NASW Policies and SSWR Processes for CEUs at SSWR 2023 Annual Conference
The SSWR workshops, papers, symposia, plenary sessions, and all Thursday morning research methods workshops and special sessions on research priorities and capacity building meet requirements for continuing education units (CEUs) for social workers approved by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Please note, however, that not all states accept NASW-approved CEUs. We strongly advise you to check with the organization that is responsible for your state licensing that NASW-approved CEUs are accepted by your state.
What You Must Know about CEUs:
- CEU fee is $25 (non-refundable) to cover costs incurred by SSWR and NASW. If you did not pre-pay with your registration, payment may only be made onsite at the conference registration desk, by credit card or a check made payable to SSWR.
- Please note it is NASW policy that oral paper presenters, workshop and roundtable speakers, symposium organizers, and symposium discussants may not receive CEU credit from the session in which they are participating.
- No partial credit will be awarded – participants must remain through entire sessions to receive credit. The number of CEUs is dependent on the number of sessions attended at the meeting.
- CEU certificates will be emailed to you by SSWR a minimum of eight (8) weeks after the conference has concluded.
- No CEU forms will be available or accepted after the conference ends.
- You may also earn CEUs from attending the sessions that are live-streamed. Live-streamed sessions are plenaries (opening plenary, presidential plenary, Aaron Rosen Lecture, annual social policy forum), the 3 invited symposia, the “current events” session, the Brief and Brilliant session, and student panel/luncheon session.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CEUs SUBMITTED VIA APP:
- To receive CEUs, your evaluation of EACH session that you attended must be completed and submitted via the 2023 Conference App. Download the 2023 Conference App at http://www.core-apps.com/dl/sswr_conferences.
- To submit your evaluation, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you must first create a profile on the conference app (name and email address will be needed), find the session on the app, click on the Clipboard icon, answer the evaluation questions and click Submit/Save. You must submit your responses 5 minutes before the session ends through 10 minutes after the session ends.
- The number of CEUs earned is dependent on the number of sessions you attended.
- Staff will review your evaluation ratings and confirm your CEUs submission post-conference.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CEUs SUBMITTED VIA HARDCOPY
- To obtain continuing education certification, fill in the top portion of this CEU attendee monitoring form (download here) with your full name as you would like it to appear on your certificate along with your mailing address and email address to which your certificate will be sent.
- As you leave each session, please have the room monitor/volunteer initial the box in front of the name of the session, verifying your attendance. Forms may only be initialed at the end of the session.
- The number of CEUs earned is dependent on the number of sessions you attended.
- Turn in your form to the SSWR Registration Membership Desk by Sunday, January 15, 2023, 1:30pm at which time a SSWR staff will review and verify your completed CEU form.
- SSWR will NOT accept CEU forms sent via email, scan, or fax during or after the conference.
